The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) Modernization Project is a major, community-driven redevelopment program that includes a new passenger terminal, ground transportation center (GTC), and significant airfield improvements. Following voter approval in November 2024, the project entered design and is advancing through a phased program planned between 2025 and 2029. The new terminal is being developed to reflect the region’s “Common Ground Recommendations,” a community-led vision that prioritizes environmental responsibility, passenger experience, and operational efficiency. The program also includes runway reconstruction and landside enhancements, all delivered through an accelerated schedule designed to minimize disruption to travelers, residents, and local businesses.

Plane Inglish is providing ORAT services focused on early design-phase readiness, supporting stakeholder engagement, operational planning, and integration of operational requirements into the evolving design. Through collaboration with airport leadership, design teams, and stakeholders, the ORAT effort aligns operational needs with a complex, high-profile capital program shaped by strong community input and environmental priorities. This approach helps identify and mitigate risks early, ensures operational considerations are embedded throughout design development, and positions the project for a smooth transition into future operational activation.
