Abilene Regional Airport (ABI)

The ABI Terminal Expansion & Modernization project (ABINext) is a transformative upgrade to Abilene Regional Airport’s existing terminal, originally constructed in 1968. The project addresses growing passenger demand by expanding capacity, reducing congestion, and replacing outdated systems to improve operational efficiency and passenger experience. Key improvements include a significant increase in hold room seating, from approximately 60 to 200 passengers, along with new amenities such as updated restrooms, a nursing room, enhanced concessions, and a semi-enclosed balcony with airfield views. The project also reconfigures the terminal layout by relocating airline and rental car counters to a larger, consolidated ticketing lobby, improving passenger flow through check-in, security, and boarding areas.

Plane Inglish is providing ORAT support focused on design-phase readiness, ensuring operational requirements are embedded early and aligned with project delivery. Through stakeholder engagement, operational planning, and coordination with the design team, the ORAT effort supports informed decision-making, risk mitigation, and alignment between design, construction, and future operations, positioning the airport for a smooth transition into operational activation.
