United Airlines - A West BHS Sortation
Denver International Airport (DEN)
Denver, Colorado
The Concourse A West BHS Sortation project at Denver International Airport (DEN) is part of a broader expansion program designed to increase capacity and support the airport’s goal of handling up to 100 million annual passengers. As part of the Concourse A West Expansion, which added significant new gate capacity, hold rooms, and passenger processing space, the project introduced modernized baggage handling infrastructure to support expanded airline operations. The new system replaces legacy equipment and integrates with broader baggage handling upgrades across concourses, including new tunnel connections and improved system efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
Plane Inglish supported United Airlines’ operational transformation through the implementation of a new automated baggage sortation system, replacing a labor-intensive manual process with a high-efficiency double-loop system. The ORAT team coordinated integration between new and existing systems across multiple concourses, ensuring continuity of operations during Phase I implementation. Through stakeholder alignment, system readiness planning, and operational activation, the team validated system performance and ensured a seamless transition into fully automated operations supporting expanded gate capacity.
